Lawn Edging & Trimming in Southern Maryland

Edging is what separates a mowed lawn from a finished one. We cut hard, straight lines along driveways, sidewalks and curbs, then string trim every fence line, tree ring and bed edge the mower can't reach.

Why our trimming & edging works here

True hard edges

A steel-blade stick edger along concrete and asphalt — not a trimmer flipped sideways — for a line that stays crisp for weeks.

Every obstacle handled

Mailboxes, AC units, light posts, playsets, fence lines and tree rings all get trimmed to match the mow height.

Clean bed lines

Natural spade-cut edges around mulch beds keep grass out and give the whole yard a defined border.

What's included

Trimming & Edging FAQs

How often does edging need to be done?

Hard edges along concrete only need a full re-cut every three to four weeks. Between those, a light touch-up on each mowing visit is enough to keep the line sharp all season.

What's the difference between edging and trimming?

Edging cuts a vertical line where turf meets pavement or a bed. Trimming cuts grass the mower deck can't reach — around fences, trees and foundations — down to the same height as the rest of the lawn.

Can you fix an overgrown driveway edge?

Yes. Where turf has crept several inches over the concrete we do a one-time reclaim cut, haul the sod strip away, and then hold the new line on regular visits.

Do you edge mulch beds too?

We do. A spade-cut trench edge around beds is included in landscape maintenance and can be added to a mowing plan as a spring or mid-season refresh.

Is trimming included with mowing?

Always. Every Patuxent Lawn Services mowing visit includes trimming, edging and a blow-down — there is no separate charge for them.
